Modified model 1910 & 1907 WSL rifles

I finally finished up my set of WSL rifles in rebarreled calibers and had them cerakoted ,just finished assembeling them .
The top is a M1910 in 44 amp ,#2 M1907 in 338-223.#3 M1907 in 30 carbine ,#4 M1910 in 360 Dan Wesson/357 mag both function in this one

Still waiting for the new stock to come in for the bottom rifle,here is a pic to show how nice they look cerekoted Cheers Peter

They look great Cept I hate the idea of "ruining" good ol classics. I prefer blued myself.
Any specific reason for the calibers? I mean none of yours are common Cept the 30 carbine? Why not just reload for the old calibers? Only reason I see not to is brass isn't easy to come by.

no real reason for the calibers except to see if they could be done ,and they do work .The rifles were in various states of neglect and disrepair and only for parts basically so I brought them back to life .I do have a batch of originals in good operating condition

Oh man now I'm jealous. Those sure are beauties. I had a chance to pick up a set of 1910's in each caliber for a steal but I choose poorly not to. Now regretting it. Someday I will own one. Thanks for explaining your choices.

I have a M1905, M1907 and M1910 but they are all in good operating condition and I shoot them in their original calibers.

A 1907 or 1910 must be a delight in 30 carbine, is there a chance 44 mag or 357 mag would work in them?

I re barreled the bottom 1910 to 360 DW which is .2 longer than the 357 mag and the 357 mag does function with 180 gr factory ammo also .I lightened the bolt by 5 oz to match the 07 bolt weight and the barrel is a bit of a challenge to fit . The magazine ,extractor and ejector all work on the 1910 with no modification .

For the 44 amp I had Ron Smith re bore a pouched 1910 barrel for 429 bullet and chambered to 44 amp and some polishing in the mag to smooth out the feeding and the rest all worked with only slight fitting
hope this helps ,the actual 44 rem mag has too large of a rim to function in the mag .

That's a great idea. If my 1907 wasn't in such pristine shape I'd absolutely do something like that. The thought had crossed my mind anyway, but didn't have the heart in its condition.

Keeping my three 1907s in original good condition. The only caliber I'd consider would be .357 due to the similarities but, nice job! (Also keeping the original caliber since a hundred rounds of .351WSL and supplies fell into my lap last year..WooHoo!!!)

when we were making the 338-223 barrel we also did a 357 barrel .So when a beater 1910 came up with 2 mags on the ee it seemed like the donor for the 357 barrel .When it arrived did a quick inspection rust and pits ,sanded and once painted ,broken wood both ends on the outside and pitted bore ,broken ejector and trigger .

tore it apart draw filed most of the pits replaced the broken parts installed the new barrel and modified bolt ,repaired the broken fore end and tested and worked as anticipated .Tore it down again and sent off for cerakote and ordered new butt stock and plate

Keep in mind that there were less than 100,000 of these rifles made in the 4 calibers ,so if it is still in decent original shape with a shootable bore or pristine I would not entertain converting to another caliber

Just for reference sake I believe model 1905 is .22 Win, 1907 is .351 WSL and 1910 is .401 WSL. No such thing as all calibers in any of those 'years'. The 'years' are just models. I could, of course, be totally wrong.

your correct only the 1905 had 2 chamberings . 1903 -22auto ,1905 -35 and 32 wsl ,1907-351 wsl ,1910 -401 wsl ,1911 -12 and 16 gauge and M63 22lr then the others that dont look like the WSL rifles
