I have a 80's Citori trap that the comb is just a bit too high. Id like to convert it to an adjustable comb and refinish in an oil finish.
I am wondering if there is anyone in MB or eastern Sask that you would recommend to modify my stock.

Thanks

Añother vote for Vic. Quick, reasonably priced and no refinishing required. If you ever make it to the WTSC I can show you a sample of his work

Sounds like he does some good work, Would you happen to have his contact info Email or phone you could message me?

Thanks again all

Anyone want to share the contact info? Maybe some pictures of the work? My wife bought an o/u a while back, she wants an adjustable comb, preferably be able to convert to a parallel comb while we're at it.

If the comb is too high, adding an adjustable comb won’t really help. Adjustment is up and side to side. You don’t really get any downward adjustment unless you take some wood out. Doing so would result in an odd looking stock when the comb is in the neutral position, negatively affecting resale. Just my opinion.

If it’s just a bit high, why not file/sand it down a bit at a time until you have it dialed in? Lee Valley sells a Japanese Woodworking File that requires minimal sanding after using.

I had adjustable combs installed, so I could lower the combs. When the stock is cut and sanded, material is lost, in the case of my guns, the comb was lowered almost 1/8'.

This is my plan as well, id like to make it like that as well as get the side position slightly further over. I know alternatively I could shave it but thought may as well go adjustable

PM sent with Vic's contact info. Here's the one he did for me. Little different than most want. The skeet stock had far too much drop, I wanted to rest my cheek bone on the comb. Vic made custom posts so that I could match the drop at comb I have on my trap guns
