I can't for the life of me see where material needs to be removed from the left side grip panel in order for it to fit well. High tech notepad paper used as a feeler gauge hasn't helped at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't realize any modification needed to be done. I just put some Hogue grips (bought brand new) on my NP-22 and they seem to fit perfectly. I've since put a couple hundred rounds through the gun with no problems.

I'd appreciate it if you guys could fill me in on what the issue is with unmodified grips? Thanks in advance. :)

I'm with rottweil13. I picked up a set of used Hogues from a board member here and slapped them on my NP22 without any modifications. In my case, I hadn't even put a round through the gun yet...and that was about 1300 rounds ago! So far, no problems.

Well they fit, but they don't fit "well." It's like there's something interfering with the left panel, that prevents it from wrapping all the way around. There's about a 1mm gap between the two panels at the back. Function was not impaired however, and I put about 250 rounds through the gun with the grips on them last weekend; huge improvement!

I had to remove a small amount of rubber on the inside of the right grip in order for the decocker to work.

I stood up for Canada too

I also put some Hogue grips on my NP22. I haven't even fired yet. When I got my grips at the store I had a choice of getting the one piece wraparound with the finger swells or a set that just replaced the grip panels. I chose the one piece and the gun feels much more a part of my hand. It was a vast improvement over the plastic factory grips. Now I can't wait to fire it.

My Hogue grips fit mine without a problem. They even fit after I changed to the newer style springs. I wonder why some are different.
