Mods for a KSG

KSG mods ; I covered the metal cheek weld with this High density foam 2mm, which is used in go kart / motorcycle racing seats from the UK..... very very durable, and can be shaped.
I will try to post pics. Very happy with the fit and finish.

Cheers

I tried the AFG, but hated the angle it forced my hand into, not to mention it felt too small for my hands AND moved around when you pumped the gun...

I do not use any add on grip now...

Cheers
Jay

I was thinking I may just have to go the stock pump route, I bought a XTM handstop kit off DILLIGAF in the hopes it may fit better, it's not here yet but once I get it on there I'll have to chime in. Someone else that posted in this thread had one on there and it looked like it fit fairly well.

I'm glad I finally got my KSG but I have to admit, I'm not really all that impressed..... doesn't mean I'm parting with it anytime soon but I don't know....guess I was expecting more. The pump feels so....cheap. Especially with the loose fitting pic rail.

I'm going to guess then it's your first keltec gun or have never read or heard of keltec because its the one thing you will hear over and over when the name keltec is brought up

^ no I had a sub 2k zombie edition I sold on the EE a while back, wasn't for me. I know what there all about and what they are infamous for.... just figured the pump rail would be properly sized at least, not like it would be difficult for them it's just injection molding if I'm not mistaken, there mold must be a bit off. I'm hoping the XTM kit with the panels will solve the problem I'm having with the AFG's travelling issues by wedging the handstops apart.... if that makes sense, and holding them onto the rail sections securely. I wonder if anyone in the aftermarket side will make anything for the KSG's pump..... I'd buy one lol. It's the only part of the firearm that I'm apprehensive about. Seems like these shotguns are a bit of a niche market though.... time to do some searchig on the interweb!

"custom made brake" is widely available online. thanks

it is???? the guy who made them is from US, and when he tried to sell some on CGN, he was asked to get a dealers membership. So the guy got offended for some reason and stopped selling it here.. i got one of the very few that he did manage to sell..

So where did you see them for sale??

Just got mine and had it out on the weekend. My first mod will be loctite on the tube selector switch. Not a surprise, I had read online about others with the same issue of it working loose.

Tried 3? different types of birdshot/target loads and some Fiocchi 00buck through it. 300+ rounds in total. I think it needs more breaking in; even with full range of motion and forceful racking of the slide it did not always cycle smoothly. Issues were ejection and feeding related but with the cheap target loads I was expecting it, again after reading of others with the same problems.

I think if I had to go into combat today I would choose my Norc 870 clone, at least until I can get the KSG running reliably. Definately keeping an eye on this thread for ideas on mods.

I took mine out this wknd first time and had similar issues. When I play with it empty it seems smooth yet when loaded the pump would seem to catch in back as if not feeding right in and I would have to push once or twice before it fed the round.Tried three types of 2.75

custom made brake (not for sale any more), not sure who makes these BUIS, Vortex Sparc red dot, single point sling loop, polymer cheek cover, and yes i like how it feels with AFG2 alot.

As said by others there are several brakes available now. The one in my pic is if I am not mistaken called defender and I believe made by keltec. there are a couple of styles available on the market

Kaos that gun looks great! I was looking @ that rail on Wanstalls website last night, really tempting. You more or less have one of the two set up's I want but change the RVG to a XTM handstop. I want the Eotech zombie stopper on there though. I figure it has a good reticle, center for slugs, outside ring for buck and the outer reticle for bird. Nice example though thanks for posting.

Yes, the rail is great still dissapointed form my first outing with the ksg itself though. The sight is a china clone I brought back with me and its off there already, hated it. glass was tinted and once there was some smoke in the air it was useless.get what you pay for in that sense there.

^ man I'm with you on that one, it's hard not to feel ripped off when you see what Americans pay then what we pay. There may or may not be justification for it but...still.

Well if you feel bad now wait and see what happens in a couple months now that our dollar is no longer par. I bet it wont take long for them to make the "PROPER ADJUSTMENTS"

Mesa Tactical Rail/Shell Carrier
Kydex Cheek Cover from Kelt Tec
AFG1 (had to Bubba it on)
Button Sling (2 of them 1 hook style 1 button, looking to do the QD conversion on the button one)
Unknown BUIS (from my Tavor)

The rail showed up today (goody-gumdrops). The kydex cheek cover and button sling should be here next week. I'll post a pic of what I have so far when I get home.

I was thinking about getting the sling too but I just got the pins. The only sling I've tried is the magpul ms3 I really liked it so I thought I'd use one of those with the KSG too. Should have gotten a button sling and expanded my horizons a bit. Have you ever tried the magpul one waepek? Offer a comparison?

I haven't tried the MS3 on the KSG. I like where the Button Sling mounts to but the problem is it makes a very difficult takedown requiring tools. So far I have only added a cheek rest, magpul afg, keltec handstop and Troy sights. I have a muzzle brake and the socket tool but haven't had the time to install them.
excuse the crappy phone photo

I just got home and opened the package looks like the shell carriers are removable just from a glance.....
I'll post some pics here in a bit

Pictures Posted

Looks like the shell carriers are removable.
