Mods you might as well delete this one

I saw the scope you speak of at 2 gun shops in the last month and on SFRC but it was the same price you mentioned. I don't think they go on sale...

I have a Crossfire 6-18x44 bdc AO and I really like it! I think there might be a few similar options in the 4-12 arena of optics but step up the magnification to '16-18' and I don't think there is much that can touch the price/value of the vortex stuff. It's not vital to me as I'm just a traget shooter so if it breaks or doesn't hold zero I'll send it back. but that hasn't happend yet.

Good to hear! Thanks

Thanks for coming out

Hitzy telling you how it is. and it looks like you're blowing him off, I wouldn't touch Vortex with a 10' poll. you can keep the china junk. I'll stay with Leupold, Redfield, Sightron & SWFA. oh I do have a Bushnell Elite 10x which is ok.

I have one Simmons, Vortex & BSA scopes and guess what I'm doing with them... I going to shoot a bullet through the lenses of these scopes because that is all there good for... pure JUNK!!

I had a great warranty experience with Redfield. Great scope for that price range.

same as Leupold 2 week return time from Korth Group in Alberta

The fact that people are waisting there time providing there opinions is unfortunate. Clearly in some of your eyes I have bad taste. All I did was ask a question about prices. And thanks all that suggested Google. Here's a little priceof info for ya. There lots of small town stores that sell optics , what they don't have is a Web site and what they don't do is advertise there's sales in anything but the local flyers. What they will do however is ship. So thank you all for your time.

You won't see Vortex "sales", they have a strict pricing policy for dealers or they get canned. If you bothered to research the company founders and their philosophy, they spell it out pretty clearly. They started out selling "birding" gear like binoculars and spotting scopes, but they couldn't make enough money sellling high end name brand stuff, so they sold overpriced Chinese import stuff under their previous "brand". Then the innernet came and people got wise, you could buy the same crap they were selling off Amazon or direct from China for 1/4 they were selling it. And I mean identical, they even admit it in their company history.
So Vortex was born, strictly on the marketing philosophy that both them (distributor) and dealer could make lots and lots of money with strict pricing on overpriced unique crap through heavy marketing. As long as the dealer abides by the pricing, Vortex the company will market/promote and even send business their way through search engines, local magazine ads, trade shows, local sponsorships, etc.
Honestly, price out some Tasco/Simmons/NC Star/Leapers/Scorpion 3-12x40 and that's what you are paying $250 for.

Vortex Crossfire is junk.
Spend the extra 30 bucks and get a Leupold VX1 when they go on sale or buy a nice used Elite off the EE, you can still get NOS Bushnell off ebay

You come here asking if anyone has seen that piece of crap on sale and you get upset when several members offer you solid advice on how to get much better bang for your dollar which you yourself admit are on a tight budget. Instead of being gracious and thankful, you act like a complete prick. Good luck with others rushing to help you out.

I don't think I can find a large enough face-palm for you.

Yes one of the best warranties, your life time & you're grand kids life time. Transferable no proof of purchase needed. It can be 100 yrs old & changed hands 15 times & it's still covered.

That is if you didn't buy it from Bass Pro, soon to be Cabelas or on the EE that happened to be imported here from the US. Vortex, Burris and Bushnell have even better warranties then Leupold. I purchased a VX 6 and had issues with the parallax dial and wanted some etching done on the scope...what a gong show...I returned the scope to Cabelas and purchased something else.

To the OP...Nothing wrong with Vortex at all. Thousands of happy customers out there who could care less to argue on a forum. There is a small majority that have had issues and will hit up any thread and let others know.

Yeah you can buy a used scope on the EE for a good price but you also run the risk of being scammed, been there done that. Get what you want and go from there. I have many scopes with one Vortex Diamondback HP on a rimfire and its been solid. Its not perfect but again not $2000 either.

Cheers!!

I'm calling you out on this Burris and Bushnell have even better warranties then Leupold.. This is false.. Burris & Bushnell takes months to get items repaired where Leupold takes only 2 weeks they (Burris & Bushnell) may have changed there warranty policies but a few years back it was limited lifetime.

I used to work for both Cabela's & Wholesale, I know the sales reps from Nikon, Bushnell & Leupold all are very nice guys. I have heard that Bushnell / Burris had changed their warranty policy over the last few years. But 5+ years ago it was limited life time 25 years

Your problem you wanted some etching done on the Leupold scope. Well that is custom work which requires a long process you didn't like the hoops you needed to jump to get that done.
So you returned the scope to Cabelas and now your slamming the product.

I looked into getting a Leupold custom scope done when I worked for Cabela's as I got a program discount at the time. yes there was lots of hoops to jump as the process doesn't mean you buy a scope over the counter then send it in.
You need to custom order the scope where they make it for you to order & the cost big $$$ So to avoid going off on you further I'm ending it here.

and Mods I think Nate is right on this one you might want to lock it.
