I'm calling you out on this Burris and Bushnell have even better warranties then Leupold.. This is false.. [/B]

On My Bushnell DMR and LRHS right on the box it states no questions asked warranty..I could drive over it and they would fix it...Leupold would not, Im calling you on your BS.. Also you better be damn sure your Leupold was brought in by the Korth cartel or you are SOL. Ive heard of a few being bought on the forum here and then are denied warranty because it was purchased at Basspro or even legally imported. Again..great warranty service.

My issue with Leupold wasnt only the etching...I never got it done but was with the parallax...funny you missed that point. And it sat for 2 weeks and then I called and asked to have it shipped back.

Sorry to burst your bubble...Leupold warranty sucks in Canada. Good scopes but terrible warranty policy in our country.

I think the big chains are dicks with any kind of warranty regardless if it's a scope, or firearm, they tell you to go to the manufacturer, they offer no after sale service.
There are a handful of smaller shops in Canada that will actually replace your item and deal with the warranty/manufacturer themselves. These are the guys I'd rather buy from anyway as they are much more customer centric.

Hitzy that is why I left the big gun stores. pay sucked & managements sets the rules. I was once told by a store manager that anyone can sell guns, I had an agreement with them during that comment and ended up leaving a month later.

His comment was anyone can sell guns, and we don't sell junk. I pointed to a few items what were pure JUNK! I then told management that to some people $500 for a rifle is a lot of money and to some it's not.

When people come to the gun department and ask questions or looking for advice, they are looking for someone with knowledge and don't want to be BS'ed & given a song & dance about things they don't know.
if someone finds out that your lying or BS'ed them just for a sale this will hurt the companies bottom line & rep. I told them they need people that know their sh!t and not a sales person who is learning and knows nothing.

long story short I'm working somewhere else for more money

Do you really think a $250 Chinese made scope is on par with a $250 Japanese/US/Philippines made scope?
You could at least step up to a Diamondback if you are dead set on Vortex, they are made in the Philippines.
Prophet River puts Leupold VX1's on sale for $289 shipped and those even put the Diamondbacks to shame....make the Crossfires look like airsoft lol.
I don't think you know what you are getting into with that lowest end stuff. Complete waste of $250.

Sorry Hitzy, not with you on this one, I've got three Diamond backs and all three are absolutely great, no problems , better than any of my buschnell elites

Phillipines Diamondback is not a Chinese Crossfire.... different animal there.
We have one DB in the family, sits on an older A-bolt in 30'06 and I don't even know where it came from, 2-7x35 and I sighted it in for the owner. It's not terrible, fairly clear, not what I would call bright, and the eye relief is a ####ty 3 inches, and your head needed to be in the exact spot or it would black out. The first thing I thought when I was sighting it in was "this looks an awful lot like a Burris 2-7x35 F1 I use to own...and all the same shortcomings".
The Burris was $170 though, not $350 like the DB version.

I hear ya, you can't have a customer come up to the counter, brand new guy to hunting looking for his first gun, and the staff can't even figure out what mount goes with what gun, what height rings to go with what scope, seen it happen at both the local chains here. That's why the low end "package" rifles sell so well... no knowledge required by either party to the sale lol

Just because you don't like what he's saying doesn't mean he's wrong.

Go to the EE and buy a good used Leupold. Your $250 will go a lot farther.

I'm in the process of returning a new VX-2 for shifting POI...they all fail from time to time, otherwise they wouldn't need warranty.

This was my first Leupold bought new last year...I drank the cool-aid from CGN about Leupold quality, maybe I just got unlucky with this one....time will tell I guess.

I mostly have Burris, Sightron and Swarovski optics...I've used warranty on all brands.

Stay away from buying anything made in China though, unless its a SKS :)

Nope I didn't miss that point as it would have been an easy repair issue for Korth so 2 weeks tops returned.
I think the true issue is your CUSTOM INGRAVING must be a DEVA thing... Laugh2 Opps I hear some banjo's in the back ground. it's the Sask Rough Riders band...

I'm going to stop now before things get too out of hand... :p

Hitzy I'm out of this one. I'm dropping the mic.. plop... :nest:

Vortex Crossfire is junk.
Spend the extra 30 bucks and get a Leupold VX1 when they go on sale or buy a nice used Elite off the EE, you can still get NOS Bushnell off ebay

I actually put a crossfire 4-16x50 on a .325 WSM savage 16, ran a couple boxes of ammo through it and it held up fine, despite all the internet heresy about cross fires falling apart on .308's.

I didn't like the AO, the weight of the rifle, the safety, the minimum 4 power for hunting or the magazine capacity, swapped barrels to .300 WSM and sold it, maybe the 30mm tube model I had holds up better, but I thinks it probably still out there to its new owner hunting somewhere...

Kind of wonder if all the hate is just a matter of people hating the chinese, the posts against vortex seem to be filled with hate more then the pros and cons of their experiences with product.

BTW.... iBTL !!

We sell both Vortex and Bushnell and each have their good and less good models. Diamondbacks are decent for the money but not even close to a Bushnell Elite. Elite models are made in Japan while Diamondbacks are not. The resolution and reliability is significantly better than the Diamondback but considering the price difference this is not surprising. Phil.

I don't get all the Korth haters here. My experience with them has been fantastic and I wish others would learn from their service standard.

I've had several dealings with them. The last was on a Kimber with a cracked stock. Less than three weeks and its back in my hands. That includes my shipping from BC to alberta, then they had to coordinate with Kimber, Kimber had to ship a new stock from New York to Alberta, rifle was reassembled and shipped Alberta to BC. All in the weeks surrounding christmas!

Korth=top notch professional in my books.

i have had a crossfire 2 on my 12 ga rifled barrel for years, never had any issues with it or the crossfire 1 it replaced. i just swapped it over to a .223 and bought a 6-18x crossfire 2 for my M14, when you are putting a scope on something you tailor what you are using it for. M14 destroy optics. thats plain and simple if you get anything over 2 years out of a scope you are doing great.

that being said would i put a vortex on a .270? no
id put something better on my most used rifle

are you going to find better prices for vortex optics anywhere? no, vortex dealers have their prices set by vortex canada.... thats why everyones prices are exactly the same with the odd guy selling for more
