Look for a post-war Polish m44. These will be some of the better quality and usually unissued. Pick up a good Finn m39 if you want to get rid of the bayonet lug - the Finns only kept the best shooters.

Thanks everyone...great advice from all. I called Russel sports in Calgary and they didn't think that ammo availibiity would be much of a problem. The fellow told that they usually stock it..29.95 for 20, does that sound about right?
I don't know why it's taken so long to back into shooting...I guess life just got in the way.

That is extremely expensive ammo. A buck a round is expensive. Look for a case of surplus or decent prices for bags of 100 or so at gun shows.
