Mojo Duck

had the same question last year. called MNR in kempville and spoke with gamewarden about it. he told me that motorized and air powered motion decoys are legal (for now) but absolutely no electronic calls in ontario. went out and got my father in-law a mojo and he loves it for duck hunting. i myself have an air powered motion goose decoy and it's alright but if there's no wind it kind of sucks when that happens.

i picked up a refurbished unit on e-bay for 60$ last year. full warranty and didn't have a problem with it. i'm going to pick up another(new one this time) before duck season for me and my father in-law. i wanted to pick up one cheap last year just to try them out and we loved it.

Buy the baby mojo, it's the one I have, works great! Just be sure to add the decoy modulator so you can have an on and off cycle... No remote needed...

Cheers
Jay

If you're planning to just hunt ducks with the spinner a remote isn't necessary. However, if you're going to be hunting Canadas at the same you may want to consider a remote unless the spinner is close enough to turn on/off manually - geese will slide/flare long before gun range. Take a good look at the Lucky Duck and Mojo they're the best 2 out there.

Yeah Mallard, Gadwall and Teal are absolutely stupid around them. Mallards tend to learn quickly though. Gadwall and Teal --- not so much.:shotgun:

As a side note I've decoyed quite a few just by flapping my hat at them too. Cheaper than a MOJO but it does take a tiny bit of effort.

It's also a good method to turn migrators when you forget the goose flag in the truck/garage!

i think mine, which is wind driven was $25.00 or so last year from bass pro.i don't think there's any ban talk of wind powered, but they've been yacking about banning electronic for a while now.

where would i pick one up and how much are they

Check out Flocknockers.com . Look in the pawn shop, tons of new and used waterfowling gear for sale. I picked up 2 brand new in box mojo spinning wing mallards with remote controls(a must have feature) for $100 each. Lots of stuff is surplus from factory pro-staffers. Also check out Avery message board.com, lots of goodies in the pawn shop there as well.

See the thing I dont understand is, they want to ban these things because they work TOO well. But why are they STILL extending duck and goose hunting seasons here in Ontario, and as well upping the bag limit, because there is so many "Nuisance" birds all over the place.
