Good day all
I am just wondering what the real advantages are to having a high end call.

I'm saying molt gear and buck Gardner because I had bought the basic grammer DVD made by molt gear!
Great DVD to learn from besides my wife not liking the goose calls going off in the house for hours at a time..
Now I realize the quality diffrence witch also price diffrence $-150-$170 vs $25-$30
The real question I would like to know, besides the quality in the call or the name is there any other advantages ?

I could go on and on about calls and call prices. Lord knows I have bought and sold enough of them and currently own more than I will ever use. If you get an Acrylic call you get two choices. Mould injected or machined from a solid block of acrylic. Moulded tend to be brittle and have a "tin" type ring to them. Not good! Knight and Hale used to use moulded acrylic calls, they were horrible quality. Machined acrylic calls are made from a better grade of acrylic. Molt Gear are hand turned high grade acrylic. Molt Gear calls are however more for an advanced user. Buck Gardner calls are much better suited to the beginner and/or average caller and not only are they half the price but they sound every bit as good as the call whose name you're paying for. I learned many years ago their is no such thing as a magic call. They are like buying a gun, they have to fit. Each of us has different abilities to push air into a call, manipulate pitch and the ability to work our hands to manipulate pressures. Generally the bigger you are the harder you push air through a call because you have more lung capacity and a larger larynx to change pitch with. Bigger sized callers tend to make deeper sounds where smaller sized callers tend to make higher pitch sounds.

x2!! Listen to this. Hit the nail on the head with everyone fits a different call. Only thing I can add is your gut systems can/will be different from call to call but quite a few call companies share the same guts, some will charge more for certain gut sets that are "broke in". Keep in mind a higher end call isn't going to make anyone a better caller lol.

The spank knows his game. I've had a bunch and fall back tonthe same acrylic calls time and time again. Always remember that watching what a pro or really experienced caller can do may lead you astray from your own abilities and satisfaction.
