Moly Bullets

Does anyone know of anywhere in Canada to get Moly coated 9mm?

I use moly in my lube recipe. No sense coating the whole bullet with it IMO.

I wouldnt bother with Moly on a pistol bullet.

I moly coat most TMJ low volume pistol bullets that I use (460, 357, high velocity 10mm), but have never seen them for sale coated.

If coating your own, be careful not to place FMJ with exposed base or exposed lead tips into the plating media. The lead exposed base will contaminate the media making future plating of jackets less effective.

That is strange, as I use moly-coated 400 gr cast lead bullets in my 45-70, and they don't contaminate the moly.

Two questions arise here.

Why in earth would you want moly coated pistol bullets and why on earth would you moly cast lead bullets?

Moly'd pistol bullets serve no purpose and molying cast lead is totally pointless as the bullet lube ready serves that purpose.

We tried it just to see if it would work without lube. It does.

And, so does tumbling in Johnson's Paste Wax, but that's another thread.

Tell us about moly replacing lube. What. Velocity do you work at ?

Up to 1300 it's not bad at all.
