Moly coated bullets.

Just loaded some 58gr. H vmax moly coated bullets today for a 243. Shot real nice, only had a chance to work up an inital load with 44 gr. IMR 4895. What a mess on the hands when seating bullets, i haven`t used coated bullets before and likely wouldn`t have had these but that was all that were available. Any body else using? Intended use is coyotes.
 
I bought some moly coated 168gr .308 Amax's because they were all I could find when I needed them. I just tumbled them to remove the moly and they worked fine.

I'm using moly'd bullets with my .221. I just wear a latex or vinyl "exam glove" on the hand that handles the bullets (usually my left). No fuss, no muss.
Oh, I don't use the waxed moly. I just moly and go.

It seems like I have to clean less often; but I'm thinking of de-moly'ing the barrel this spring and actually trying again to see if the extra effort is worth it.

Is your trigger finger thawed out yet? :D I will bring down some antifreeze for it now that im back in the hills. I'll probably have troubles prying that savage from your hands to bring it home :p
 
Well Sksavenger perhaps i should take Splatter`s idea of the exam glove and see if i can pull a salvage out of your he haw. That would be after you bring down the anti freeze.:D The load testing kind of got put on hold by mother nature.I don`t have a tumbler for removing the moly, may have to get one. After 40 years of not needing a tumbler i`ll see when the new Cabela`s store opens in Saskatoon if they have a grand opening special.

Being that it is a savage, one has to test for a load that doesn't shoot good :p could take a while
