All I did was read the book, and scored only 1 wrong on the practical. (always check the bore for obstructions, no matter if you only put the gun down for two seconds or not) Aced the written. It's easy, go for it.

I'd love to hear how you get fogducker back :twisted:

The best way of course would be for you to use your tag, and his this season. :twisted:

Someone in Gunnutz posted the Firearms Instuction book ( for taking the POW course) I can't find the site addy. Help please.

I have the book here.. somewhere? I know where I left it last.. but it's not there now :evil: Gremlins , I say!!!!! :mrgreen:

note for shortround.. ( NO it's not an excuse ) you ask anyone here I was not a happy camper that the book has gone astray :( ( notice no tears!!) :lol:
 
well i will tell you what , again Daryll and friends have invited my sorry behind to Ontario turkey hunting, and if all goes well I will be there spring of 2006 , you better have a dead animal by then or we will rub it in big time and Gatehouse wont cook you dinner :lol: .....oh and I still have to take a turkey hunting course I guess...........this outta be good for a laff :lol:
 
ACTS... Assume the gun is loaded...control the muzzle....Trigger finger off the trigger and See that the gun is unloaded or safe..Prove it!

Point the firearm in the safest direction...remove all cartidges...observe the chamber...verify the feeding path ( what exactly does that mean?)

and examine the bore....

I think it means to make sure there are no rounds in the mag :D

and that there are no obstructions between the mag and the bore. not good having something blocking way of a round going into battery.

Veryify the feeding path.
The feeding path, is the path taken by the cartridges from the magazine to the chamber. That can be quite different for a bolt gun for example, versus a tube magazine rifle such as some lever or some pump action guns.

They are asking that you check to be sure there are no cartidges in the feed path. It is possible for the magazine to be empty, and the feed path to still contain a cartridge.
