Some old shooting bits and pieces and a few guns. Most of the good stuff had been sold by Dad after he stopped competing.
But in the back of a cabinet I found a 410 shot gun. Looked like an old single shot Cooey. It is missing the wood front stock.
I could not imagine why Dad had this junker. I brought it home, along with all the family photo albums. The oldest albums included pictures of mom as a youngster on the famly ranch near Smithers, BC.
In one of the pictures she is holding a pheasent in one hand and a small single shot shotgun in the other. The gun is clearly missing the foreend.
It is an Ivor Johnson's Arms and Cycle Works. Made in Coboug.
I am glad it was never sold or given away. It is one of only a few relics I have from the ranch.
Anyone know where I could get an old and original piece of wood for it?
