I see on the calender that ORA is having matches this weekend at MONS. I have never participated in a match before but am a ORA member.

My question is can I just walk on and participate in this event?

If so, How many rounds should I bring?

Finally is the Match all weekend or is it a series of matches throughout the weekend.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You will need about 200 rounds for the 3 days. Friday is pretty much the "warm up matches", Saturday and Sunday is for the Grand Agg and the finals are on Sunday afternoon. I would get in contact with the match organizer to see if they are any spots left. The deadline for this match was July 16 I believe. But like I said earlier contact the match organizer to double check.

Hope that helps you out a little.

Since this is the ORA Annual Matches there would not be any practice targets available. I believe the cost of the 3 days is around $175.

Fazal is the one to talk to.

Couple of questions since this will be your first visit.
What Class of shooting are you planning?Palma,FTR,FO?
Make sure you have a few items to help your weekend go better.
1.enough of same ammo
2.a good zero for elevation and windage on your scope or sights
3.Ballistic chart for ammo for elevation and windage from 300 to 1000 yards
(check your scope/sights to make sure you have enough elevation on scope to dial in 1000)
4.rain gear for self and rifle and scoring sheets (keep rain off your ammo, out of your chamber (towel) and scoresheets can be kept on clipboard inside large clear plastic bag)
5.bugspray,sunblock,chamber flag (can get one from ORA there if you don't have one)

You probably already know this but just wanted to remind about some essentials to make it good time.
Welcome to the madness :)

About to dig out the batman cape and brelly, weekend doesn't look like it is going to be too dry, at least on Saturday and Sunday.
Waiting to get the official weather report from Norm.
