Monster moose taken in NB!

There are some genuinely awesome members here that i always root for to have a successful season. Since i have been a member here Paul has made it widely and publicly known he was always waiting for that New Brunswick moose draw. Very happy for you bud a big thumbs up!!!:dancingbanana:

I agree, but that rifle needs some bedliner....

We are allowed to buy a second gun licence, but are only allowed to take one moose. The price of the two licences was $125.

Congrats on the monster!

But what is the meaning of the above quote? Second licence, but only one moose? That sounds strange enough to almost be an Ontario regulation.

How that works is ....... I got drawn for the moose tag ($62 and change) which allows me to choose a "designate" hunter to accompany me (another$62 and change). We both get to carry rifles, have to stay together and are allowed to shoot one moose only between us.

I boils down to a brilliant government scam to get double the revenue from only one moose licence from people who are desperate to hunt moose.

That little buddy took a 260gr 375cal Nosler AB in the lungs at 100yds and never twitched. Bullet stopped on the hide on the far side. Two follow up shots were implemented. He finally went down on the third.

I should have called in an airstrike instead. ;)

Should have used the 30-30. :D
Congratulations!
Hey you're a meat cutter, we know you are not in it for the horns!
Happy munching!

I just called the buddy that cuts moose here. I was the first one in on Thurs with mine. He now has 50 moose hanging in his coolers.

I'll go over in the morning to help him cut and in turn get a good price for hanging mine there. He's charging .55 cent/lb for regular cut and wrap and .65 cent/lb for all steak cuts.

Thanks for the explanation. It is just as strange and tax-grabby as an Ontario regulation.

Congrats again.

Still had milk on it's lips. :( Sorry but I don't feel the adoration that most do. You coulda waited until he grew up a bit more. Ya shot a baby moose. Big F'n deal. Flame suit on. I know that you happen to have an upcomimg moose hunt with Ted in the Yukon, or at least you,ve been talking about it. Y'a could have waited instead of shooting a f'n baby moose. Sorry man, I have a lot of respect for y'a but your coulda just waited instead of shooting a calf. That's just my opinion.
