Monster moose taken in NB!

I think 12 minutes after 20 years is a bit of a ripoff.
In some respects yes, but given the way it's set up for us most would prefer to get it over ASAP. It's usually quite warm here this time of year and with only three days, well. We are getting the tail end of a hurricane this weekend and the crummy weather started yesterday, the last day of the hunt.

I helped cut up 12 moose today at the butcher's place. We took in a calf moose today that only weighed 77lbs on the hook. It's the smallest moose I've ever seen cut up, but late on the last day I'm not sure I would pass on it either.

Russell knives or clones....

Russell knives are cool............. and it would be cooler.... [is that a word..lol...] to have a custom one made........... nice Paul.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, moose steaks!

77 lbs???
Whitetail fawns are generally heavier than that.
Must be a really late calf. Still wet? :D

We used to have a general calf moose season & twice I've taken a calf. Both times the meat, although very tender, just didn't taste quite right to us so I never shot one again. Gutted and skinned with head & lower legs removed, one weighed 206lbs and the second went 212lbs. Both were bull calves and were pretty much average size around here. That 77 pounder musta come outta a pregnant cow!!

That's about the size they are here too.
It looks like the guys will be calf hunting again this year. No adult tags, unless one of them is holding out, to surprise us at camp.

You should be putting in as a group. If you don't, you automatically lose out on 78% of the tags. If nobody in your group draws a group tag, then all of you go into the individual draw anyway. There is no reason not to put in as a group, or a couple small groups.

If you did put in as a group, there would be no surprises at camp, as when you call in, the message would tell you that someone in your group drew a tag...
