Can't help but show off my new rifle. It's a Montana Extreme X2 in 6.5x284 Norma topped off with a Nightforce SHV 3-10x42 (MOAR reticle) in Talleys. There's a few firsts here, my first Montana rifle, first 6.5 anything and first try at a Nightforce. Initial impressions of both are that I couldn't be happier! She is no super light weight (I have it at a wee bit over 9lbs with scope) but far from being annoyingly heavy and I prefer a rifle with little meat on its bones. The Nightforce is a heavy piece of glass at 20.8oz compared to say a Leupold VXR 3-9x40 at 15.8oz (both 30mm tubes). The plan is to work up some loads over the winter and have her ready for the mountains next season!
