I have been a glock guy my whole life, so I do not know much about revolvers.

I recently had to urge for a wheel gun and just bought a S&W 327 TRR8.

I was wondering what kind of moonclips will be optimal for this revolvers.

There are so many different thickness, I am unsure of what to get.

The store I am looking at has them in .020, .022 and 0.025 thickness. Which one will work best with my TRR8?

I believe the thickness is more about the type of ammo than the gun. It will work with any of the thikcnesses you posted with the right ammo. I believe some ammo like Starline is better with .025 while .020 is generally good for most others.

it has to do with the ammo you are going to use. as you can image, when clipping the ammo onto moon clip, the wideness of the rim has to match to the thickness of the moon clip. otherwise, it won't hold. from all the brand name like TK custom, it will have a list of commonly fit ammos for your reference. if you reload, you have to find that match between the brass you use and the moon clip you will buy.

I believe the Brownells listing of moon clips for this gun gives the ammo brands that work with each of the various thicknesses.

Seems a bit of a PITA to be restricted in terms of ammo brand depending on which moon clips you end up buying.

Edit: After checking their site, the below moon clips will work with any brass, but NO Winchester

Do yourself a favour and go to TK Customs and buy some proper moon clips, .25 thick. They're not cheap, but will last you a lifetime, they won't bend or break. They make them for S&W now.
If you've never shot a moon clipped Revo, even the slightest bend to a moon clip will bind up the cylinder.
You'll need a tool to get them in a and out, so while you're at it pick up a BMT mooner, again not cheap, but the best of the best.
This is experience from years of Revo competition.

Have fun

Thanks for translating outlander lol

i just had this mental image of someone doing sign language to your post down in the corner while i read it, like when you watch some of those political speeches and they have the person down in the corner translating the speech for the deaf people, that was running though my mind when i read your post originally, haha!

The TK Customs are WAY better than S&W factory clips.

Your two choices are either Starline brass, or everything else.

I know Brownells sells them, and does ship to Canada.

38 spl is all over the map as far as groove size, as it was never properly standardized. If you reload range brass your going to end up sorting by head stamp to get reliable function with moon clips. The recommendation for TK is spot on. But i've not had an issue with S&W clips, they just need a bit more care in use.
