Just got my 610 last week and I took it out to the range yesterday, had 15 moon clips ready to go, it was a blast.
I noticed something strange however (strange to me anyway). The spent brass is left with a weird spiral-like etching along the case body. Nothing too deep, just superficial scratches; they seem to be the result of the case spinning on itself in the chamber.
Being new to moon clips, I'm wondering if this is something to expect. The only theory I have is that the chambers in revolvers designed for moon clips are cut a bit looser to allow easy extraction of the moon clips, meaning the cartridges aren't held as tightly in the chambers, allowing them to spin... I still don't see why the rising pressure and subsequent propulsion of the bullet would cause the case to spin, though.
I'm just curious to know if this is a common thing with moon clips. Thanks.
