I have just started using a revolver for IPSC . I am the only one right now so there is no one to ask how to properly do a quick Moonclip re-load . Does anyone have a link to a site or video on how to do proper and quick reloads ?
thanks for the help

Jerry Miculek is probably the best revolver shooter around; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giSaNiQ-Wb4
He has a full-length video available from Dillon ( http://dillonprecision.com/template/p.cfm?maj=32&min=2&dyn=1& ), but there's nothing that says you can't "tweak" things to fit you best. Miculek switches the revolver to his off hand to dump the empty clip and drop in a new one with his strong hand, but when I tried it, I found I couldn't twist my weak wrist over to the outside enough to make a straight drop in with the fresh clip, so I found I was faster if I popped the cylinder latch with my left thumb, pushed the cylinder out of the frame with my trigger finger, smacked the ejector-rod with my weak hand, and then dropped the fresh one straight in as I brought the revolver down again. You should also chamfer the edges of the chambers a little bit and use RN bullets so there's less chance of a hang-up.

I am such a knothead , I am trying to find a set of his grips and I never even thought to just google his name and see what came up .SDC thanks for pointing me in the right direction .

The SDC Method Means A "Keep It Super Simple" Approach

My pick for a reload of my S&W 625 is to keep the revolver in the right hand and
avoid the transfer to the weak hand as SDC shows above. Thats the method I used in sanctionned Level II and Level III Matches this year as what I will use in IDPA ones in 2007.
The full moon clip provides enough weight and retention to ensure that ALL cases exit the pistol versus what is needed with single rounds in other revolvers not using a full moon clip. I also like Miculek's method of "throwing" the speedloader into the cylinder; with round nose 230 grain bullets it is easy to do when practiced and is good for "reloads on the run" when the tendency may be to stop to reload the revolver versus keep on the move.
Since most IPSC Matches are not too "revolver friendly" the corollary to this is that you really cant have enough moonclips loaded up. A cylinderload may get fumbled as well so an instant "extra one" is essentially a good thang to have esp in long courses where 32 shots are needed.
I am a fan of moonclip revolvers: IF anyone knows where there is a S&W 610 please let me know eh!

If you can get a hold of the World Shoot XIV video by Saul Kirsch, on the first disc there's a Dutch shooter demonstrating moon clip reloads. Very impressive.... he can get them down to under 1.6 seconds IIRC
