Hello all... I was wondering if anyone has any comments on Mossberg's 715T series... good , bad...

I have a bolt action .22 now and i was looking for something a bit military looking vs all my wood stocks...

Thanks...

Thanks, it helped me out, now i will just look at the differences between the different models, i guess flat top means no handle on it?

Thanks

Hehe... so as a Christmas gift from my wife i ordered a 715T flat top from SFRC yesterday, and they say i should get it tomorrow... cool...

I was looking around for accessories, like a front vertical grip for it... now i have seen some accessories like a front drip, but it is not specifically for a 715t, its for a system that uses a rail... since i am new to these "rails" are these things universal? like any firearm with a rail and use any accessory for a rail?

Is there a doc i read somewhere about that?

You will love that gun. Don't listen to all the nay-sayers that say its a cheap plastic gun. Its a Mossberg plinkster in a synthetic stock...just like every other gun in a synthetic stock... Synthetic means plastic. The stock is made for Mossberg by ATI and i find it to be of excellent quality. Its also adjustable to fit various lengths of pull. It is reliable, cycles flawlessly, and is surprisingly accurate. I'm shooting 1" groups at 50 yards which I find is great for this type of gun. Is it plastic and light weight? Yes...but that is what makes it so easy to use and so fun to shoot.

I agree, I love mine. put 2500 rounds through it and only had 6 ftf and 1 stove pipe. very accurate as well I can repetedly but 10 rounds in a 1 inch group at 100 yards. I also used all my old airsoft gear for add ons. I hunt coyote with my cousin and he uses a ruger sr22 and the mossberg passes all the same tests with an added bonus of half the weight and half the price.

I'm looking at one also.

My only concern is the repeated takedown and reassembly for cleaning.

Having metal screws in polymer, over time, the screws will tend to "strip" the plastic so they won't hold tight anymore, no?

The takedown and clean was what forced me to sell my two!
I loved the accuracy and the look. The bonus was when I would out shoot the sr-22 with all there upgrades!!!

GET THE FLAT TOP!!!! The carry handle version is a piece of flipping junk that if you are lucky will point somewhere near target.

I chopped mine off, installed my own scope mount setup and now my gun shoots perfectly dead on every time. before that it was pointing high and way to the left with the carry handle mounted rail and no matter what I did would NOT get on target.

I take mine appart weekly to repaint my stock to match the terrain im hunting in. as long as you dont rush while tighting the screws you will be fine. I constantly out shoot sr22s, plus the next time you have to hoof multiple km's you will be happy it only ways 5 lbs.

Nice to know there is such a great following of this firearm! I just got my flat top delivered(UPS) a few mins ago at work, i opened it in my server room where no one was around, but our nosy, yet very hot receptionist signed for it so she wants to see it , i said no.... Here is a quick pic with my S3 camera on my cell phone...

I was worried about the mag issues i read about... mine seems to not fit so tight/flush... hard to tell from this pic... i will take more at lunch time when no one is around...
