Moose and Elk Camp 2026

Well the preparations are well underway and almost complete, the convoy rolls out on Tuesday morning, there will be 4 of us in camp again for the entire 18 day's with 2 more dropping in on us for 8 day's in the middle of the hunt. All family this year, BIL's and Nephews.

We have 1 bull moose draw and 1 cow elk draw as well as general elk tags so are in good shape for whatever comes along.

I just have a few little things to take care of before we head out and have another infusion on Monday so hopefully it dosn't knock the crap out of me.

The pre made meals are all made again with the usual, chicken alfredo, stew, pork loin, Italian sausage and pasta, spaghetti and meat sause, and chilli, I just stuck a couple pics on the bottom to get you drooling

Yes sir each is an individual meal, they are in 2 lb tin foil containers with lids, they go down easy after a hard day hunting

Good food goes a long way to make it enjoyable in the bush!!
I have a bunch of meals ready for our moose trip starting on the 17th.
Shepherd pie, butter chicken, tomato spaghetti sauce, each will be a repeat. Plus breakies of French toasts, bacon and eggs wraps, toasts, oatmeal etc. Lunch will be simple, more like snacks, soupe and crackers, smocked salmon and cream cheese, grill cheese etc
We pack food for 8-9 days.

If I may…if your camp does not have running water, a fair amount supply of wet baby wipes is a must

It makes life soooo much more enjoyable.

Last four moose were shot from camp so after lining our canoes up river for 6ish km we set up camp and mostly stay there.
