Moose blockades in region 5?

This is an issue that needs to stay on the radar of ALL CANADIANS in ALL PROVINCES and territories. When word spreads that bands in BC are getting away with it then where will it spread to next?

I am not racist towards natives...I just have too much first hand experience to believe that they are the care takers of the land/our natural resources, etc. This is an illegal, self serving act.

Depending how committed they are to blocking the road just drive right on through. If people are wearing masks and pointing firearms at you...then don't. Phone police and local media...

A few years back I came upon a road block in remote, northern Alberta. In all honesty it caught me off guard and I was a bit scared of the somewhat disgruntled looking people sticking signs in front of my windshield....I wasn't about to stop b/c I didn't know what they would do to the lone white man on the side of the road....I just kept a steady pace and drove on through...they moved.

Sure.

Except that's up to the ministry to decide. Not vigilantes.

the ministry is driving the resource into the ground..... the public.... this time being first nations has said enough is enough.
these actions are being taken to preserve the moose due to inaction by the bc gov.
the bc gov wants to fill this province with pipelines and cares little about the environment these days.

as hunters we are stewards of the resources we hunt. Moose are in dramatic decline here in region 5 and all guys are concerned about is their precious leh tag ..... who cares about the moose numbers..... fug those natives, i'm going hunting...... right? that's the truth for you guys right?
the road blocks are meant to shut a moose season down that shouldn't be open in the first place if you actually take the time to read the ministries own data.
so we have the people, who happen to be first nations, who actually live on the land you are accessing, protesting the governments handling of the moose allocations.

for me, I look at the data, I drive around in the bush in region 5 , heck I actually live here, and I think the whole season should have been shut down and a general
1 week season should have been implemented in september for tri palm or 10 pt bulls. no spikers, no cows/calves, no LEH

forget about the native issue for a moment and ask yourself, does the government always do the right thing? is PROTEST often required to get a government to act?

as firearms owners we know all about government acting irresponsibly and not doing the right thing..... and we stood up and got action..... some folks within our ranks paid dearly in court for their disobedience. the general public looked down at us because we were painted with the "gun owners are evil brush"...... I digress

point is, if you give a szchit about the resource and you can see it is in decline thru government mismanagement..... what's left to do but protest.
the people who actually live on the land in question have said enough of the mismanagement and it's time for action.
folks here only see natives causing them problems, you refuse to see that this is PROTEST based on government inaction to form a proper mandate to address the drastic decline in moose numbers.

so whatever, I ain't gonna argue...... you guys go ahead and run the road blocks and keep shooting moose who's populations can not handle the pressure being put on them. just keep filling your tags until there is no huntable populations of moose left in region 5 .
pretty sad day if you ask me.
