moose bullets

Greatnorthern,
200 partitions will be a great choise. I've shot a lot of game with them out of 300s, always penetrate and just plain kill stuff.

Don't go over 180 gr with your 300wsm, you will loose to much velocity and energy. The cartridge does not have the guts to push it fast.

180 gr seem to be the sweet spot for the 300 wsm. TSX, Partition, or A frame will drop it like a rock.

As the TSX carry huge energy through the game you can get away with a slightly lighter round such as the 168 or 165 gr.

I ran 165 gr TSX in my 300 WM last year and they were very devastating!

Good luck!

My hunting buddy and I use 180gr bullets in our 300WM for all our big game since our rifles were new in 1997. We have been using Winchester Supreme Accubonds CT's since 2004 and reloads this season.

For the 300WSM- 180gr Accubonds/TSX or 168TSX would be a good choice. Maybe even the 150gr Accubonds. The 270WSM using 140gr Accubonds have been knocking everything down my wife has shot-moose/elk/deer.

We are using the 200gr Accubond in Nugget's 300 SAUM, the loads is chugging along at just over 2800. With the B.C. at .56 or .58, there are no flies on that load at all!

I think you're right on the money with what you already have.
Best of luck in your hunting trip!

Noel
