Moose Eastern Ontario ??

I am wondering ....

When are moose normally starting to mate in Eastern Ontario?

I have had a trail cam out all year and I just recovered my first pictures of a male and a female together.
Up to now all I got on the picts were single moose ....

Not unusual for Bulls to be around cows they usually start rut first frost or third or forth week September and secondary rut mid November.

Ive seen them in that area in pairs, and calling each other, usually around the end of September, while out duck hunting.

^^^ I start to see signs of rutting activity around 20-25th sept. Secondary rut is usually after rifle deer season ends.

The cow in the first pic doesn't look happy with her boyfriend.
