Moose hunt, filmed in New Brunswick circa 1905.

1905 Moose hunt

Very interesting piece of film. Quite the tree stand setup also. We hunted deer right there near where the railway crosses the Canaan river back in '94. Wonder if they're drinking Alpine beer? Awesome bulls.

kind of neat that I can watch a film made in 1905 in 2012 on the internet.

Exactly - it's great when these get transcribed to digital format so they don't end up moldering in some unknown archive somewhere. I quite like their tree stand setup - looks nice and sheltered from the wind, and pretty big! (though I wonder if they're just sitting on branches up there, I didn't notice much in the way of modifications other than cutting branches out.

WHAT!!!
You mean they didn't Use a Super Duper 500 Horsepower 3,000 ft lbs of energy Magnum cartidge loaded with a Boat tail tactical depleted Uranium super alloy zombie tracer!!

Accoring to the forums that's the only thing that can kill a moose nowadays!

Man, that second moose was a monster!!! That was a nice video, thanks for posting it OP. Now I know why they brought New Brunswick moose to populate Newfoundland, anything that size should withstand everything, even our weather :D.

Now that would be fun travelling by rail to a remote place in the country, living under canvass and hunting for bull moose. No radio, TV, just a bunch of guys cooking over an open fire and living in the bush. The second one looks huge, I there are more moose in NB than deer these days.
