Hey Mike.......... I'm just wondering why a certain 35 Whelen wasn't used for that hunt instead

VERY NICE MOOSE :!:

VERY nice bull, guys!

I would like to know, idle curiosity and all, were any bits and pieces along on the hunt that formerly belonged to me? Like a certain redfield scope, or any number of other very useful items?

mommabear, you want recipes I have recipes...........did a nice moose stroganoff with the last of my moose from TWO years ago...........hmmm maybe a swap of mule deer for moose might be in the future............

Doug

PS) NO moose hunting for me this year, and I am jealous............

That's a shame Doug  As far as recipes... the only thing I may be looking for is sausage recipes... everything else I make is my own... I love experimenting and usually everything turns out awesome.
Just ask Dumbdawg!

BC BIGBORE, I thought you were tough...you know, buck knife, and a piece of string and you're good for the weekend. This shed's a little light on the right side of hunting...let me guess, you have a wood heated hot tub on the back deck...

 Hot tub indeed... ...that pic was to show the luxurious Big Nine Outfitters elk camp I had the pleasure to be a guest at :D My usual camps are...shall we say "spartan" Hey mommabear, I made some elk-burger "goulash" here at work last night and tonight I'm slow roasting a rack of moose ribs in a honey garlic sauce I concocted  8) I do enjoy working nightshift during hunting season when it's quiet around here  ...KF

Mmmmmmmmmm... sounds good BC Bigbore!!!!!!Wonder why we didn't get any moose ribs???? :?

Elks gotta be as good as moose eh? What kind of work do you do that you are able to cook there??

Mommabear, my family likes elk even better than moose and a good young moose is hard to beat  As far as work, I'm lead control room operator at a remote oil/gas plant and field. On nightshift I mainly dispatch and maintain flows via the various computers here in the office (complete w/ full kitchen) It gives me time to play "Swedish Chef". Tonights menu by the way, features broiled moose rib steaks with saut'ed Portebello mushrooms and red wine sauce...bon apettite...KF

Nice job you have BC Bigbore!!!!
BTW I'll be right over for dinner  sounds really yummy!

Moosetrapper... congrat's on the bull!
