Good story The only truth to the story could be the Argo.
I owned an Argo once...many years ago...in another lifetime. Do you think it is a coincidence that Argo is a four letter word?? The physical scars have healed and the mental scars have responded well to therapy but the emotional scars may never completely heal. I attended AAA (that would be Argo Alcoholics Anonymous) for a couple of years after I managed to get rid of the machine which helped a lot, and it feels good chatting with fellow abused former Argo owners. Anyone watching the group would swear we are a bunch of baseball managers practicing our game day signs and signals with all the twitches and jerks and uncontrolled body movements.
Some poor fool at the Toad River gas station offered to buy my Argo from me. For a brief moment my human side wanted to warn him but the mania took over and I popped the hitch on the trailer and climbed into my truck, revved it up and popped the clutch. He shouted after me something about payment and I hollered back "MAIL ME A CHEQUE!"
HA HA HA...the jokes on him cause if he thinks I am giving him my address then HE is the INSANE PERSON. No way in HELL he is getting my address cause he MIGHT return that friggin' machine!
Argo....drive for 4 hours...fix for 4 hours.
Regards,
Dave.
Trust me, I could get it stuck, and about the same time the final drive would pile up! Do you know how much rolling resistance a tracked vehicle has in deep snow or mud? I do, and I have the broken winch line to prove it. I'd fix it with a hammer alright. Machinery is great when it works, but man oh man, when things go wrong . . .
Hey that Airedale looks kinda out of place in that neck of the woods, is he yours?
Oops, sorry Doug, back on track now (pun intended).
Toad River huh . . . Was he a big guy with a walrus mustache under his black cowboy hat?![]()
No the Airedale belonged to the Russian geologist. He always had 3 or 4 dogs with him. They let him know when there were caribou or grizz to deal with.
What else can you tell me about the Airedale? Where was the photo taken? Does he use the dog for hunting too?
