here are some pictures of my best hunting trip i have ever had. i was hunting moose with my dad in a new moose zone. we have been waiting for serm to have a moose hunt in this zone for 5 or 6 years, well in 09 we got drawn in this zone. to say we were both excited is an under statement.
ive done a lot of deer hunting in this area so i knew were abouts i wanted to hunt. first day we got weathered out with fog and wet roads (4x4 didnt work in my dads truck). we got permision for this chunk of land and went out for an evening hunt. we walked across a stuble field and in to an alphalfa field and i started to call. we would sneek from bale to bale around the little bluff and grunt and wait and move on to the next. about an hour of doing this we were moving from behind a bale to the next spot we took one step and this big bull was standing there. i told my dad it was a good one and to shoot. he put 3 168grtsx,s in to him as fast as he could, i help alittle with some 115gr tsx from my 257wby. we went from 0 to 900mph in about 1 second. what a rush ive never been so excited in my life.
it took about an hour for us to calm down and take pictures of my dads first bull. when we got done pictures a showed my dad how to do a moose and we got him quartered and loaded in to the back of the truck and were on the way home by dark.
you can see the bale in the back ground that we were calling from.
i got my bull a few days later of some wildlife land and had to pack him to the truck.
the meat is getting used by at least 4 families, gave my moose to 2 different people. made my dad eat some heart from his moose and had the time of my life hunting with my dad.
