If you book ahead of time you can get a guide. Also to cut down on gear you can have all you meals included and they have a great kitchen.
The zones we had assigned were very thick and the first day we have no clue where to go and got really frustrated.
A couple of the workers took us out and gave us several trails marked which I never would have been trails the way they mark it that it was a trail. But when they did, everything started looking up with from moose tracks and hope of being in the correct general area. .
The morning after that day we harvested the bull. It's on the outfitters Facebook page.
The second day after that we got one going to a salt lick. Calling wasn't working that great. I think it was way too warm and a bit early.
An FYI the road coming in also is really bad like the last washboard comment. My minivan took a beating. Had to drive so slow. Jeeps, SUV, pick up and rigs l, dump trucks flew by me but I could not drive faster. It is like a 6 or 7 lane road so they could all pass me but the dust kicked up is a problem with visibility. It took us over two hours to get that part to the camp.
Another tip we drove to the address on his letter head with the confirmation of our hunt. LMAO we pull up to his Personal residence. and we are like "I don't think we can hunt here" lol ahh well small detours and we got to the camp safe and sound which is important.
Another real plus when we harvested the moose all the workers were there with boats , atvs, ropes and trailers digging right in getting dirty. These guys Pulled and pooped him on the trailer and a bulldozer lifted him into the tree to hang over night. We packed up and headed home in the morning. It was way too warm to stay longer without a freezer. We could have stayed because we had more tags but that was more than enough meat for us.
We drove back and met a butcher who did all the cutting we did the packing. Paid him $60 and a few good prices of meet.
That was my first experience butchering such a big animal. Took me a few days of only eating pasta to eat meat again. But let me tell you how good the meat was once I did.
Anyways next time ill be renting a pick up and the other guys have one also so we will be better prepared. I just hope the weather really cools off because when we were back there the beginning of October and it was too warm.
