Curious as to which type of moose hunting most of you enjoy, high alpine, river etcc?
And do you use atv, backpack, river boat or freighter canoe

Personally I think it's hard to beat hunting on a good river late in the year.

i love hunting my moose from logging roads in my truck.
keeps me warm and can bring alot more gear.
if i have to be out it is in the alpine areas were i can see for miles.
talk to ya all later

Here we watch the alfalfa fields in the early am or late afternoon. Shoot them at distance, then drive along the edge of the field as close as possible and load them up in the truck in 1 piece, they hang better that way, the only thing I can think of that tastes better than grain fed moose is grain fed buffalo

Swamp Donkeys :D mmmmm

Saw one scouting this weekend, season opens in 8 days :D

I like working the aspen stands around the swamps in early November, with an ATV, later in the season I work the frozen swamps a lot more.

Up here in Northern Ontario our group of 4 calls them in. you put in one caller and set up shooters covering the approach areas allowing for the wind, terrain, etc. we've been lucky enough to get at least a calf the first week 9 years out of the last 10. Its' usually a small to medium bull tho.

A lot of guys road hunt as well but I can't speak for their success rate
