Hello all,

I've drawn my first moose in LEH in region 3-29 (Oct 1-31) and trying to gather any info before the actual hunt. It will be my only second hunting season and I could use some piece of advice from seasoned hunters from our board. Please help me if you can with some questions I have: is this a good area for moose? If it is, where are the good spots to try to find one? What method of hunting to use: drive around or stalking? Thank you very much. Any info or advice is highly appreciated.
 
So anyone know of any decent spots around there. There is like over 200km of FSR roads to travel so a vicinity of something, i.e. lake, stream, etc. would be helpful. I have hunted this area before but mostly on a "luck of the draw" basis, not actual still hutning for moose.
 
Moose are where you find them.

During Early October the rut will be in full swing. Find the cows and you should do OK. BTW the cows will still be on their summer ranges. In other words look for them in recent cut-blocks near ponds and small lakes.

It is also the best time to call in a bull. It is not hard to learn as all you need to do is sound like a love-sick cow.

So ............ the first thing you need to do is look at some topo maps of the area. Find the swampy areas and then get out there looking.
