I won a bull moose leh for bc mu7-23d but have never hunted the area, has anyone hunted this area? My map books show little in the way of roads to access, and the terrain looks steep. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks Mark

This is a nice area to hunt. Rains lots there but the area along the Anzac is great.
Several great areas to set up camp as well. Crocker Road is one of the main road for you to hunt in this area.
All the roads in this area are logging roads.
I can not remember the road number I think it is 2900 road on your right about 15km past Bear lake. Also called the Chuchinka Road.
Follow this road to where the 700 road joins stay to your left here and continue on till the 800 road go left and follow the tracks and lakes to the Parsnip River go over the bridge there is a fork to the left again and up a hill this road leads to the Anzac river. If you stay stright you are on the Table river road and getting into MU 7-23C
The Crocker road is up this road about 22 km or so. if you continue on you will come to a bridge going over the Anzac River and there is several km past this point still in 7-23B . There is a realy nice bog just after the Anzac bridge that hold moose most of the time. I have sat and called on this bog. Many moose have been taken here. Drift the Parsnip River as well. Many many moose taken off the river. This is a busy area.

Hope this helps.

The entire Parsnip is navigable by small boat. Lots of sandbars and watch out for log jams.

like H4831 said the river is littered with sandbars and log jams.
the river moves slowly we driffted last year about 12 km in 5 hours.

If the river is up the drift rate will be faster.
Normal depth is 4inch to 10 feet just depends on the rain.
most areas are about 2 to 3 feet
`12 foot boat and 9.9 work good
drift down motor back up

Weather may be warm at that time of year. If it is run the meat into Prince.
Home steaders are good.

Best of luck

Had a draw in 7-23 B last year. What a horror show. Bull draws were active, cow draws were active, immatures were open. Never seen so many people crammed into such a relatively tiny space. From first light to last light it was a steady parade of vehicles driving up and down the road.

Having said that... print out some info from google earth. Look for swamps and older cuts with no road access and hunt them. It rained a LOT when we were up there but the temp's were fine for hanging meat- that was beginning of October. Grayling fishing was outstanding! (Couldn't keep them tho).
