In a little over a month the moose hunt will once again be a reality and I'm getting more excited by the day. Am I alone? Not likely!! What a great time of the year!! Comments anyone??

Ron

Moose hunt not happening this year.....but am preparing for next year!!

Gotta find a canoe, 2HP motor, and an outfitter tent. Those are the big things needed.

Cant wait!!

We leave next Friday, the 10th. Exciting to hunt this time of year - the rut is just getting underway. We are on a "conservation hunt" - 2 cows for 4 hunters. That should be a good start towards filling the freezer.

Have to wait for the season to open Thanksgiving weekend up here. Combining a canoe trip with a moose hunting trip, can't wait.

Last week we had three young bulls standing in our garden, then the next morning there was a cow and calf about 75 yds from the house in the Canola field. Haven't seen them since. Yesterday morning a whitetail doe and her fawn where walking across the lawn. the spots on the fawn are just about faded away. We see game all the time as we live on the edge of a creek valley.

Nice rig!! Are you planning on using your pontoon boat as a portable camp? Kinda like a house boat?

No this boat just has a canvas sun roof on it so it would be cold, set the camper up close to the lake and use the boat to float around fishing and calling, quad for recovering a downed moose or going to find some groose for lunch.

6 guys in our gang, 21A. 1 bull tag...3 cow tags. I'm only gonna be going for 3-4 days this year instead of the usual 11 though due to starting my first year of college. :(.

1 8ft. Overhead camper
1 24 ft. trailer
Dining Tent and a dome tent for storage
3 bikes an Argo and a Jap Mini-Truck w/Kenda Bear claws
:ar15:

It is hard for me to get excited over Moose season.

It opens on Sept. 1 and runs straight through till Nov.30th. the entire Northern part of Saskatchewan.

3 bloody months long....I almost feel sorry for the creatures.

They use to close 2 weeks of the rut for Archery only now it is open for everything. Archery, Muzzleloader, Rifle.:onCrack::ar15: Really screwed up my bowhunting.

We have L.E.H for 2 bulls + I believe 6 point or better elk will be open.wall tent + completly stainless wood stove( buddy works @ the mill !)so it will be warm and comfy.

Ron, to your title, "Moose, Moose and Mooses," I would like to add, "Hunts, Hunts and Huntses."
There are so many different ways that moose get "hunted," but your moose hunts are certainly among the top of the list, to my way of thinking. That's moose hunting at it's best.
By the way, the book I had thought I had seen the last of, "Trespassing in God's Country," was finally returned to me!

We took a sabbatical for 2009, so we're totally chomping-at-the-bit to hit the long road to moose camp!!

1 Bull, 1 Cow tag.

Not running our bus up this year....tenting-it old school!

Can't wait!!!
