Well I was out for a tour yesterday looking for a couple of the moose I had seen kicking around my one hunting area. I had just got out to the good stuff and was up on the top of this long coulee glassing a couple of muley bucks when out of the corner of my eye I catch some movement across the valley. I took a quick look through the binos and pretty much yelled to myself "PIGS".
I made a couple of calls to see if anyone of the guys I know in the area were around and wanted in on these. No answers on the calls so I was on my own. A quick loop around to the end and back up the other side to the finger I had seen them in and all hell broke loose.
When the smoke cleared from the 325 wsm I had a nice sow on the ground and 5 little piglets around 40lbs dressed. 2 did manage to get away or I would have had the whole herd. The 200 grain Accubonds and 414 really did the trick on these Russian piggies.
I know , i know, no pics I did take some after but was by myself and in a hurry to get them gutted and into the butchers cooler. Since I have to use my laptop cause the tower on the home puter died I don't have the Canon program on the laptop.
This last group brings my wild pig total to 14 now. Butcher says he will start cutting them up on Thursday. The little ones will be fantastic on the b.b.q..

Awesome! Pigs aside, I always try to make it out for a prehunt trip to my chosen hunting spot for moose. I'm usually out when chicken season opens up. It gives me a real good idea where everything hangs out before the shooting starts. Two years ago, I took my moose from a spot I found while bird hunting. Other hunters where snickering and trying to tell me there was no moose in that area for years, til I had a nice 3 year old bull on the back of the trailer on the first week

Can I give you my phone number to add to your list of people to call when you find more wild boar than you need?

So when am I coming over and what kind of beer should I bring?

Awesome... I got dittly looking for antelope yesterday.

I can't drink beer (alergic to hoppes)s.p.? I get sick as hell and it's before I am done one not the next morning. I did see a decent goat probably high 60s low 70s good cutters and height but he was a little weak on the mass. If I see any good ones in 19 I will let you know.

I just feel safer if I have back up when I am after the wild pigs. I don't need another shooter just some one to dial 91 and if I don't come out of the bushes hit the other 1 and push send.

I have been charged by a wounded one and had a stand down with another after I shot her boyfriend and had no more shells in my pocket to deal with her. When you wake a old boar up from his afternoon nap he will look at you like you owe him money.

I'm gonna try with the bow, so right now anything looks good to me.

I like rye too ;)

I'll bring a cellphone and be the back-up gun. Can almost always learn something worthwhile going along on a hunt.

U lucky bastard!!! I would love to run into a mess of wild boar. If only they were in my part of the country

And ya. You really should have put some pics up. I know. I know

I have only seen one wild boar here in BC.. It was huge and eating apples at an old mining site with a few fruit trees.
thought about duct taping my knife to a stick and trying.. but it seemed like a very bad idea..
