Moose Season

I must be using the smallest caliber, cheapest rifle arounf here.

Stevens model 200 chambered in 270 WIN, topped with a Burris Fullfied II
3X9X40 ballistic plex, shooting 150 gr Winchester Supreme Elite XP3.

Rem 700 KS in 416 Rem Mag.
Picked this one up from the EE a while ago.
Has a 3 position safety, Sako extractor installed, removeable brake.
Leupold 1.75-6 in Leupold QR rings.

And it shoots too:)
The group is actually 0.273" not the 0.231" written down.
3-3 shot groups to verify the load averaged at 0.501"

Remmy 700 SPS DM 30-06 with a Bushnell 3200 3-9x50, Shooting 185gr Bergers @ 2575 fps

Edit:

I guess I am not going for moose this year...... The missus informs me I "don't have the time".

I guess I will just have to satisfy myself with a nice jumper this fall..... There's always next year :(

This year it will be my PSE thunderbolt, as the only moose opportunity i have is an archery only zone.

When i draw my bull tag in a rifle zone, my ruger 77 mk 2 stainless in 338 wm will be on my shoulder, the load is to be developed, although it seems to like 225 gr accubonds.

Me too. .270 Parker Hale shooting 140gr Nosler AB hand loads.

We leave on the 8th. Can't wait.

I was planning on hunting with my 1895 405WCF made in 1929. Puts a 300 grain bullet out the end of the barrel at 2245 fps.
However, after some target shooting on Saturday and seeing how my Winchester 71 deluxe shoots, that will be my primary gun. That will be shooting a 200 grainer at just over 2500 fps IIRC. Heading out early Friday morning to start the hunt on Saturday. Getting pretty darner excited!
Sorry I don't have any pics of the guns.
Matt
