no luck in the moose draw this year. Maybe i'll have better luck in the antlerless draw.

2025 there were 4794 licenses available.
327 less this year in NB.
My son got drawn for his bull moose in WMU 504 just northeast of Edmonton. He will name me as a partner on his tag. We own 160 acres of bush, landlocked up an overgrown road allowance. It is surrounded on all sides by crop land. Great moose population, our biggest problem is keeping the trespassers off of it. It is a guarantee that we will throw off two or three every season, normally locals who won’t allow others to hunt their properties.
I’m in ontario and under 60 years old, so the system was recently changed to mean i have no chance of drawing a tag.
As such, i have stopped applying. It’s not worth it for me to dedicate multiple years, potentially a decade, just to earn points so that i can maybe get a tag when “i’ve earned it”.
Ontario MNR has its head firmly planted somewhere it shouldn't be, so i have to look elsewhere for oportunity.
