Moose with 243...?

I think a 243 is capable of moose hunting. I wouldn't go after the big bulls with it but a cow or calf will be clean kills from a competent shooter. And on the shooter part, if you are using the 243 because it is what you feel the most comfortable shooting and therefore the most accurate, I say good for you and may the hunting gods smile on you. I have always felt that a lower powered gun that can be fired accurately is always better than a bigger gun with a flinching shooter. Not dissing anyone that shoots big guns. Not everyone is comfortable with large magnum recoil.

Not a good idea, but possible. There are too many risks, please don't try it and give the rest of us huntera bad name. 270 or bigger please. I recomend a 30-06.

Probably the shooter is more important than the calibre..... but i will still stand aside 243 as an option, even though it's not my only option.
