Moose with a 45-70?

With Hornady 350 gr FN 48.0 gr of H4198 give me 2075fps. This what I will be using next week moose hunt. I need to check out the POI this Saturday with my newly mounted Holosight scope.

46 grains of H4198 in this load only netted me 1675fps. Maybe you have a longer barreled gun? Mine is a 1895G with the 18" barrel.

Does the Holosight sit low enough to get your cheek properly snuggled down on the stock? I picked up a similar type of unit from Marstar but found it sits way too high for anything resembling contact between my cheek and the stock. I tried a couple of cheekpiece-raising devices but didn't like either the feel or the look of them.
