Well I went hunting to our usual spots, no luck, I come home to town and there is a moose in the school yard across the street to my house:runaway:

My wife was laughing but I didn't seem to find it that funny

But my kid and wife finally got to see just how big a moose is

It was a 2 1/2 year old bull and they wouldn't let me shoot it:(

Where was this? I lived in Winnipeg for 2 years and didn't see any moose. I used to hunt near Lundar.
 
We had one in town here yesterday,Tore down a fence,went over to the gas bar .Were it got chased over to the ball diamond & then across the Hwy into the bush.Son said it had about a 40 inch rack.DAN>>>
 
Were just 100 km north of Winnipeg in little old Gimli:)

The people got a heck of a thrill out of it:runaway:

Even the Mayor showed up:D
 
We have some moose close to Carberry, about 3 1/2 miles east of town. My buddy has a vid of one on his phone, a little spike bull, he's also seen a cow and a 24-28 inch bull as well! ALthough they haven't ventured into town....yet.
 
I know Gimli. I was at the Air Studies Air Cadet Camp there in 1987. Plus my wife's best friend got married there as just about her entire family lives in Gimli.
 
A looong time ago the farmers used to put up wild hay on the flats at Gimli. Except when the wind got in the north for a few days and the hayfields flooded.
I was born at Petersfield, but funny thing, I don't remember a thing about it!
 
I know a guy from Gimli too, a locksmith, nice fella.

One year after a week of hunting hard for a decent buck with no luck. My first day at home a nice 10 point is in the school yard up the road from me. I live in the down town core. The deer ended up running right by my house. Best deer I saw all season.

we hunt the pine dock road. Moose and Deer and the odd grouse;)
I have a cabin at frog bay, it's a fish camp for the commercial fishermen
