Savage Mark II. I should have bought the heavy barrel just for the weight of it alone. Anyways, filled the front channel with ordinary silicon caulking. Not as heavy as I'd like but should remove easily if I find a better (free, lying around the house not being used) substitute.

And, at the back end, a sandwich baggie full of sand and paper for space filler.

Pardon the FuzzyCam(TM) but I also cut about 3/4 of a loop off the Accutrigger spring then used Locktite on the remainder. Makes a nice difference to the trigger, takes that bit of grit out and leaves about a 1.5 lb crisp pull.

Silicon, it was reaaalllly easy to work with, slightly messy but cleans up fast. Wanted to take it to the range today but the silicon isn't, I suppose, intended for that thick of an application and is still curing. Maybe tomorrow.
