How was it removing the front sights? I'm contemplating changing my 858 to a standard A2 buttstock with a straight NEA adapter to give a better cheek rest for my POSP scope.
The problem is I also want to be able to use the rifle with irons.
I happen to have a set of good quality BUIS that I may use for this. I don't want to have two front sights. I think it looks ridiculous. So I'm either looking at removing the front sight and replacing it with a flip up, or somehow extending it higher to be used with a rear flip up BUIS.
I haven't decided on anything, I'm just thinking about it.
Does the front sight come off easily? It looks like there are two pins to punch out, but is it welded? And does the fact that it's painted make it difficult to come off?
