Unless of course a certian "other" well known dealer and sponsor on the the site is working on importing new manufactored straight pull bolt AK47 that would be non-restricted with a 16.5" barrel, that is only a few months away........ that would be a lot nicer then a paper weight gun, I guess we will see very soon.

I'm guessing there is a plant there that is totally fine with taking a batch and de-activating them to the standards that Marstar requests. Its manufacturing. If your making money doing it, you'll do it. It was probably a fairly quick job with a couple welders to do a batch up.

Syphen is right. There are factories that would deactivate guns for the collectors market in Russia and other ex-soviet states. Handguns(except for those designed to discharge ruber bullets/tear gas ammunition) and full autos are illigal to own in that part of the world. I did some research and found out that deactivated AKs, AKMs and AKM-74U go for about $380-$575 retail price in Ukraine. Russia must have similar prices. I guess how much would you have to pay for a Marstar combo to get free deactivated AKM? As someone already mentioned there are no such a thing as free staff out there.
