More details from the Globe and Mail

idk, how did the 2 biggest armies in the world do, against a bunch citizens with old ak47s in Afghanistan do?

You can't be serious. You're comparing a people and culture who live lives of comparatively extreme hardship and are willing to die for what they believe, against a group who complain when their latest order from Tenda isn't to their door within 48hrs. It's not apples and oranges, its apples and spaceships.

I certainly don't agree with what is happening and will be making that position known to my respective MP. It's a waste of time and money and doesn't make anyone any safer. But if you think I'm going to risk what I've built for myself and my family over the past several decades for a few guns you're out to lunch. Sometimes I envy those with nothing to lose, but then I come to my senses.

The EE is just a confiscation laundry list right now. People are panic selling. Crazy times.

Sickening isnt it?

And the people are asking retail price for them as well

If they were really scared, why dont they cut their asking price in half, then we will see stuff sell

Everyone has missed the point. The guns in my (law abiding gun owner)safe nr or restricted will never be used in a crime.
What everyone needs to remember is guns don't kill people, people kill people. If someone wants to kill people they will whether with a gun ,a knife or a vehicle. We better hurry up and ban all vehicles because they can be used as an asault weapon by a small amount of peopld.
Everybody here knows that and „they” know that too.
But „they” have an agenda so any reasoning is futile, regardless of any reasoning - „they” will just keep pushing their agenda forward until all civilians are disarmed.

point is, the government is scared of an armed populace. that's called liberty.

My thoughts exactly. They are scared ****less yet still asking average selling price. The logic of these people gets me the most: "These are going to get banned, so I should just sell it at what I paid for it. Let some sucker sit on this expensive paperweight!"

Liberal Logic: Let's release all of the people in prison serving sentences because they may catch a cold.

Also Liberal Logic: Let's attack, persecute, and make pariahs of the most law abiding segment of our society all for the sake of, because.

The positive note is that you have to make arrangements for your loved ones now. When things are really bad, and everything is gone, you will have a source of comfort. The COVID-19 scenario dispels all the tinfoil stupidity, things may get real soon, so make good choices for those loved ones.

Remember what happened to all those people who didn't turn in their 10/22 mags. That's right, the same thing won't happen to you too.

It's clear now. You may be a firearms owner...but you were never one of us.

Get lost then you don’t belong here. Go play airsoft or Nerf guns with your family.

I hear crocheting is a great hobby maybe you can pick that up when you turn in your firearms.

I suspect the government realized that some of the firearms on their list were NR, hence not in any database.

Hence, before confiscation can begin they will try to create a temporary grandfathering clause which will require these NR firearms be registers as prohibited by the owners. If you want your grandfathered prohibited license, you will have to register your newly prohibited firearms.

It is only when the location of every one of those firearms is know to the RCMP that a wholesale confiscation can be implemented. That may not occur for a year, two, five, it's just a matter of time.

Why now?

I speculate that the Government is going to try to deflect away from the RCMP's failures in NS, not sending out a public warning, etc., and lay blame on all Canadian firearms owners. It's still not clear what the RCMP were doing for a whole 12 hours.

It's also easier to manipulate public opinion when emotions are raw and people are hurting. This move ensures that public anger is directed towards firearms and not the RCMP and government.
