Just a heads up again, for folks in the Halifax area, CTC in Bayers lake only, will have a grand opening on May 12, they have 150 ish SKS in for this deal and they will be on for $179.99! I had the opportunity to look quickly at 90 of them as I offered to help label them by year and ser, number.
Half of the ones I went through had blued barrels, most had nice stocks and a few had god awful stocks, thats not bad if you were going to bubba it as some with the ugly stocks had fantastic blueing including a beauty 54 izzy! There were also about 6 that I am sure we're non refurb( had all the cartouches etc except once again the mags were switched at pinning)! I have my eye on one of two 1955 refurb but nice blueing and stock and a 1953 Tula non refurb and I think the other is a 52!!! There were others but I am only able to buy 3 more!! I think and at that I will be selling 3 from my group as I fill in a "sort of" collection! The good thing is, for anyone looking for a specific year, we have most of them labeled and may get them all labelled before the sale! That way if you are looking for a particular year they will go in the cage and bring you out a few to look at!
Edit, price!

I would be willing to pay to be able to have the priviledge you have been enjoying in sorting thru those!:d

I wonder how long it would take to drive from BC to Nova Scotia:confused:

Haha well if you ever make the trip you will have to look me up! I got to know the store manager and the sporting goods manager pretty well over the last couple years, good guys, and I actually helped them sot the rifles.cthere were a few curious ones as usual. One had a stock that I am sure is a yugo stock I don't think it was birch, different grain very light coloured! Another had a real nice tiger striping on the stock even the manager noticed! We only had about 30 seconds with each rifle! They had looked through a good few befor I got there and they thought they had a 49 but it was a 50, it did have the hole in the dust cover pin and the flat front gas tube attachment! So many variations in these things, I am kinda getting hooked!

Once again, you sir are a lucky man! Please grab me one and pm me. I'll send you a cheque, money order, canadiantire money, what ever!

There are not many things in life that provide the same joy and satisfaction as one finds when sorting through a crate or Russian Surplus rifles.

5800 kilometers by road, for me! I will have to give it some further thought.
If you could deduct it off your taxes,,, I think SKS are tax deductible aren't they? pick up some nice cold water lobster around $6 a lb. a couple of craft brews down by the waterfront! Then head to Peggy's cove to watch the idiots get to close to the ocean and get swept away! ( if the rocks under you are wet,, you are too close) aaannd then head to our princess auto in case they have some specials that you don't have back home!

I didn't know there was so much to see and do in Nova Scotia! Seriously, next to looking thru a crate of SKS, I enjoy spending hours in Princess Autos.
One day I will make a trip to see Eastern Canada, there are a lot of old stone buildings and forts I want to see. Here in BC, not many buildings are over 100 years.

Louisburg is awesome worth the trip to Cape Breton, along with the Bell Museum, crazy, how many inventions that guy came up with, And again the SKS!

Canadian Tire in Bedford has SKS for $149.00 right now. They are cheaper than mossberg plinksters hahahahah
They have been on sale for almost a month, started with just under 60 and as of yesterday still had 5! I got 1 53 izzy and 2 54 izzy's! Prices in the area are coming down! If you were there, did you get a lakefield savage .22 semi auto for $139.99?
I missed out on the promo cards last week or I would have bought 5 more.

The sale coming up at Bayers lake don't have many izzys that I seen but some really nice still blued receiver/ barrels, some stocks are nice and some not so much, out of the 90 that I looked through, there were maybe 5 unrefurbed with non matching mags.so there are at least 60 more that I didn't see so maybe 4-5 more non refurb.!

After spending too much time and energy in the "separate western Canada" thread, this thread makes my heart smile :)

Thanks gun nutz!!
