More inexpensive SKS!

Doesnt CT price match my local store has stock but wants $259 I wonder if would match
Nope, the Bayers lake wouldn't even match the Bedford store, they said the ones for $149.99 had to be old stock and they will just be breaking even with $169.99 at the Grand opening. However I think sales across the board are slowing as the market gets saturated, there will always be demand but now I think more and more , it is folks like us looking for particular ones. That and ammo is slowly climbing in price!

Well, I just went in to the Bayers CTC, and the sports manager told me that he seen the flyer going out for the grand opening and the store Manager put the SKS in for $179.99 instead of $169.99! I guess it's still an ok deal especially if a person gets to pick through some of them but not the fantastic deal I was expecting! It will be interesting to see how many they sell that day. They are expecting to sell a bunch but I am not so sure!

That bill is dead, the CTC manager doesn't seem to be worried, these are a new shipment in, that's why he jacked the price $10. The more SKS, or any firearm that gets in the hands of law abiding Canadians is a help. Strength in numbers!

Damn, they better have some left for september lol im away until then.
Are you just looking for a shooter or specific year? I am sure they will have some left, but if you want to pay for it I will pick one or two up for you! I am also going to be selling a couple of mine as I adjust my little group!

Just out of curiosity, are you sure that bill S-223 is dead? I last heard that it passed second reading....

Well everything I am hearing, is that it dies with her retirement, and another senator has to reintroduce it to continue! So I guess that's a good reason to keep sending letters to all the members, so they know what kind of flak they are in for if it is reintroduced!
Getting back to the SKS and CTC. Although CTC and other major firearms stores are quiet right now, you can bet they won't be, this would be a huge loss for them as they have created a foothold in the industry and spent a lot of money in inventory and training their staff.. They will not give up this revenue stream without contacting representatives and lobbying for sensible gun laws!

Maybe I missed it, all I see is what went through to parliament and was mostly stuff that both sides would agree on I didn't see anything on 223 but I just took a quick look, the senate is full of Consevatives right now, so I don't think this will make it if it isn't dead already, that doesn't mean we can relax because Justin hasn't had time to focus on the firearms laws yet, hopefully he will drop enough in popularity before he turns his ,sights on us that the will heed the backlash and possibly reconsider any draconian measures, we have to be loud and effective!

True, he is young, and I think he'd like to drive the party boat for more than one tour. Pissing off thousands of potential voters (gun owners) will not help him...God,I miss the halcyon days of Mr Harper!!

Yes for sure, well I am trying to do my part, both in getting everyone I know with a pal to get an SKS and ones without a pal to get one of those! Join the firearms right associations and if or when it comes to it,, protest peacefully!
I think personally, the most important thing is to let them know how many voters we are and how powerful that is!

The CTC grand opening is tomorrow, SKS $179.99. Interesting that this will be their first advertised firearm flyer,, at least around here, with an SKS on the front page, along with a lakefield .22 64TR semi auto for $160. !!!

Cool, I remember the good old days as a kid looking at the Canadian tire catalog, pages full of guns! Real guns!

Funny you should say that,,the first rifle I ever wanted as a kid was the Winchester 1894, and had the picture from the Canadian Tire catalogue taped to the headboard of my bed!

So,, pics to follow, a non refurb 1952, beautiful stock, few scratches will polish up nicely, a 1953 Tula non refurb, and another beauty stock,, a 1955, non refurb birch stock, very nice dark cherry red, issued for sure the butt pad shows a lot of blueing wear around the edges cool! Next a 1951, non refurb, similar wear on the butt pad., they all seem to have very nice cherry red birch stocks! Now for an interesting one and one I could use some answers on,, a 1957( backwards N) non refurb, beauty,, however it has a birch stock, I thought all the letter series had laminate, so it could be a refurb, there are way more inspection marks/ cartouches than any othe SKS I have 4 or 5 around the front lug bolt and all over the stock are numbers and markings,, so far no refurb marks so I will keep looking, it has also been issued and shows similar wear! Lots of fun!! There are still a good few interesting SKS there as I couldn't buy all the ones I wanted;) ,,,!!,
Edit, after reading the sticky at the top of the page I see that the 56/57/58 could also come in birch stock! So many differences in these little buggars!
