I'd like to get a Marlin Lever in 45-70.
I'd like more than 4rd mag so the 1895 Guide gun (18.5" barrel) is out.

I like the 1895 with 22" barrel, but it still has the 4rd capacity.

The 1895 Cowboy is a 26" octagon barrel with 9rd capacity. On this particular model the tube mag extends all the way to the front and ends nearly flush with the barrel end. I feel the 26" barrel will be too long for a handy bush gun.

Can the 22" barrelled 1895 have the tube mag extended to be nearly flush with the end of the barrel (like the 1895 Cowboy) and one could have maybe a 6 or 7rd mag capacity? Or maybe extend the 18.5" Guide gun to 5rds?
