We have been working for a while on a detachable bottom metal kit for Rem 700s, we now have a finished product that is available for sale.
The bottom metal is made from billet 7075T7 aluminum and is MilSpec hard anodized.
These use the Accuracy International AICS mags and we will be offering DBM kits that will use their AW mags very shortly.

Currently only SHORT action 700 is in production and available for sale, but long action 700 will be available in the next few weeks. As soon as Accuracy International releases their 223 caliber mags we will be offering DBM kits for these also.

As with most DBM kits there is some inletting to be done to the stock and action.
On the AW series there is more machinework required to the action to accomodate the mag lips.

Pricing on the DBM kits is $550.00 This includes 1 mag, either 5 or 10 rnd.

We are charging $100.00 for installation of the kit which includes the machinework necessary to the action and the reinletting of the stock.
Dealer pricing is available to licensed dealers.

At this time there are no plans for DBM kits any other makes of actions.

I know it sounds rookie, but it's kinda neat to see the block of metal that they come from. Gives me a sense of the amount of work it takes to make one, let alone to spec.

Looks awesome.

No but having a milling machine is pretty much a prerequiste.
The stock re inletting could be done with a file and dremel, but the action needs to have the ADL screw anchor removed and the front of the feed ramp needs to be altered for the mags to seat up high enough to strip rounds reliably.

What really bothers me is how little of that block is NOT turned into chips:eek: The block weighs over 1 lb before the mill is unleashed, and the finished product just a few ounces.

They look like nice pieces of kit
How will these work with the frequently used Jewell triggers? Or possibly a Jackson trigger ?

Saves milling time but doesn't save machining time. You're just transferring to work to another machine.

You add another setup to the process, which in turn adds costs and time.

What you gain in milling time, you loose in setup time, over all time and overhead. Waterjet machines aren't free, nor is subcontracting out the waterjet work.

What he said.
We`have 2 CNC mills, and more on the way soon, to buy a waterjet that has very limited use in gunmaking is just not in the budget at this time. An EDM would be more useful.
