More on the .338 Federal

Looks like this is an opened up .308 Win, so seeing as Tikka refuses to listen to me and chamber the Boar gun in .338 Fed, I'll make my own on a high end Husky 1600 action in .308 Win, shorten it to 20" of barrel, and find an ultra light stock. (The Husky has a sweetheart of a walnut stock, hate to mess it up in the bush.) Now - does anyone know if there are .338 Fed dies out yet, and who in Alberta might have a .338 Federal reamer?

Why not buy a factory rifle and have it cut to 20"? The Ruger would be a good candidate for that.

I agree with that. Especially if the HVA 1640 have a good barrel.

Redding and RCBS both make dies and should be readily available

Redding makes 338 Federal dies. I have been reloading for mine for over a year. It is a nice cartridge, and I hunt with 185 triple shocks over Varget powder.
