more PAL/RPAL questions

Is it normal for the CFC to phone the applicant and REASK questions such as if you've ever applied for bankruptcy, went through a breakup, etc? My friend had to answer all these questions on his application and then got a call from the CFC reasking those questions. Then the next day they called his references. Is this just a standard thing when you apply for an RPAL?

Thanks, he was just worried that they were fishing for a reason to say no to his application.

I never heard once from the CFC on my application.
